The new program of Ramon Pellicer and the return of 'Crackòvia', among the strong dishes of the 3Cat season

BarcelonaAlthough 3Cat's daily programs have already started the season this week, the public television station presented some of its main bets for this season this Tuesday. This year, the common thread is fiction, represented among others by three premiere titles, and entertainment, with novelties such as the return of Crackòvia, the sports parody program, which will return to the platform starting in October.

During the season presentation, the director of the television station, Sigfrid Gras, highlighted the good audience figures for the news programs, which "have been working with rigor for 40 years." In this sense, he remarked that "complicated years are coming in the information field," which is why he asks the audience for "trust and respect." "We are and will always be the television of the Catalan people," he affirmed.

After leaving the Weekend News and presenting La Marató in 2025, Ramon Pellicer has a new project at 3Cat. It is called Vèrtex, a current affairs space that will cover the major social issues of the week from different points of view. The program will be broadcast in prime time on Sundays, right after 30 minuts, and will start on September 27th when the broadcast of the Mercè Piromusical ends. The program's team will include journalists Georgina Arnau and Júlia Peguera, who will make reports on the week's topics. "They are people who are used to doing live broadcasts. And one of the characteristics of these reports is that they will show the inside and the outside. That is to say, the journalists will be witnesses to this reality that they go to portray and then in the studio they will explain to me everything that we could not record in the images and that will be complementary to what we will see in these 3 or 4 minutes of reporting," Pellicer details.

Fiction, another of the common threads

In the series section, the first novelty will arrive on September 21, when 3Cat premieres Gènesi, an approach to Ferran Adrià and the creation of El Bulli. The production, which will pass through the San Sebastián Festival, stars Miquel Fernández, with a long television career that includes Nit i dia and who here takes on the challenge of playing Ferran Adrià without falling into parody. The cast also includes Carlos Cuevas, Iván Massagué, Mónica López, and Joana Vilapuig.

The other novelties regarding series are In vitro and LIA. The first is a tragicomedy with Bruna Cusí and David Verdaguer set in the world of assisted reproduction. Cusí plays Blanca, a biologist who joins a fertility clinic where she will work with Héctor, who is much more rational than she is. Each episode will revolve around a different case: from couples seeking a late pregnancy to women who decide to be single mothers, LGBTQ+ families, or complex situations such as reproductive tourism, genetic selection, or embryo freezing. The second series will deal with one of the topics of the moment: artificial intelligence. LIA, which according to 3Cat was created to encourage scientific vocations among the female audience, follows four doctoral thesis students who enter the Advanced Laboratory in Artificial Intelligence, a pioneering program in AI applied to different areas of technology, competitive and extremely demanding. The main actresses are Mireia Vilapuig, Clara Sans, Cristina Colom, and Laura Vinyals, and they will be accompanied by Emma Vilarasau. Also in the field of fiction, 3Cat has announced that the second season of Departament Amades.

More doses of 'reality'

In the field of entertainment, there are new seasons of two formats that have already proven to work, such as La travessa and La gran cita. In the case of the first, this year the first edition with celebrities will be held. Among the well-known faces that will participate in the adventure program hosted by Laura Escanes are Raquel Sans, Miki Núñez, Jair Domínguez and Neus Rossell, among others.

Another of the novelties is the jump to presenter for Jordi Cubino, known for being a coach of Eufòria. The musician will head El doble,a format directed by Carlo Padial and Carlos Bayona. Taking advantage of Cubino's past as an 80s pop star, when he went by the name David Lyme, the program will follow the search and training of a double capable of reviving that musical phenomenon.

Regarding cultural programming, the shows Nervi and Tot el temps del món are maintained, but with changes at the helm. Andrea Gumes, who until now presented Nervi, will be the host of the book show that was commanded by Anna Guitart, currently director of the Ramon Llull Institute. Gumes' exit from Nervi implies the entry of a new presenter, who will be the journalist Clara Molins, coming from RAC1. Molins, who joined the Grupo Godó station in 2017, was until now the deputy director of Via lliure, the weekend program directed and hosted by Xavier Bundó.

Another important change, although not related to culture but to gastronomy, is what will be experienced in Joc de cartes. From now on, it will be Arnau París who will present the restaurant competition that until now was presented by Marc Ribas. "In the end, it's a program made by the contestants, more than the presenter. It is true that everyone has their own way of hosting: I am a motivated person, a very approachable guy, I like to chat a lot, I like being with people a lot. And you also try, when there are situations, that they are understood by the audience," explains París, who asserts that one of his red lines within the program is lies. The chef will combine Joc de cartes with Cuines, which will also see a notable addition: Rais Esteve, Arnau París' partner, will also offer quick and tasty recipes.
