Sony sets an expiry date for the physical format of video games

Sony has announced that in January 2028 it will stop producing and distributing video games in physical format for PlayStation consoles. The measure, described by the company as a "natural evolution", will force users to rely on the digital store and threatens the future of specialized stores.
