BarcelonaA brain tumor has claimed the life of Kelley Mack, known for her role as Addy in the ninth season of the series The Walking DeadThe actress had been battling the disease for almost a year. Her family announced the news of her death, which occurred on Saturday in Cincinnati, her hometown. "It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Kelley. Such a bright and fervent light has passed on to the afterlife, where we all must eventually go," they wrote on Tuesday. The young woman died "peacefully," and her mother and aunt were with her until the end during her treatment for cancer that was diagnosed in November of last year and that affected her central nervous system.

"Kelley has already reached so many of her loved ones in the form of butterflies. She will be missed so deeply that words cannot express it," the message continued, accompanied by heart and butterfly emojis. A tribute event will be held in Ohio on August 16, and a recognition ceremony is planned for later in Los Angeles, where Mack settled for the past 11 years to consolidate her career. Her sister, who wrote the message that appeared on the actress's Instagram profile, ended by explaining how proud she was of her: "I want you all to know how strong and brave this bitch was," she said affectionately.

Aside from her role in the famous zombie series, the actress also appeared in different episodes of 9-1-1 (Fox) and Chicago Med (NBC), apart from being the face of several advertisements and participating in films such as Profile (2018) and Broadcast signal intrusion (2021).
