Broncano gives one more reason to have a 'late show' on TV3

Netflix has reached an agreement with Televisión Española for the programs of La revuelta to be incorporated into its catalog the next day. These are episodes that can be found on the (very well designed) RTVE Play app, and for free, but the streaming giant knows that becoming Broncano's second window for young people who no longer consider traditional channels could be very beneficial for it. The public entity, for its part, obtains income that reduces the cost of the program, and the presenter also wins doubly: he gains a new broadcast channel that can give him more notoriety and, at the same time, he takes a small step onto the platform, knowing that if Vox and PP come to power, the first thing they will do is evict half of RTVE, starting with him.

While this whole game is being played, and while in the United States it is becoming evident that late shows play a role in denouncing neo-authoritarianism, at TV3 we still lack a format of this cultural relevance. And we don't have it because the parties that appoint the Corporation's board members got nervous at the first hurdle, with a Zona Franca that, with Joel Díaz and his writers, represented a breath of fresh air and intelligence. Nor was Marc Giró secured at the time. And Buenafuente was lost. One already understands that the Catalonia of sosiego requires lowering tensions, but let's be aware that it also implies losing nerve and the capacity to react to cultural changes that – precisely the PSC – should fear now that it sees the wolf's ears. And, instead, we have a very powerful monologue scene in Catalan that is only expressed in the house in sections of the oasis of Està passant, or in niche programs on 3Cat with a short run because they only seek to cover the cultural record. It's time to bring a late show back to TV3 and place it on Movistar, Netflix, or HBO. With class and style. And, above all, with teeth.
