WashingtonIn an unusual appearance from the White House, Melania Trump said this Thursday that she has never had any relationship with the pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and assured that the accusations in this regard are defamatory. "The lies that link me to the disgraced Jeffrey Epstein must end today. People who lie about me have no ethical standards, no humility, nor respect. I do not oppose their ignorance, but I reject their petty attempts to defame my reputation," she defended while reading the statement from the podium.

Melania denies ever having had knowledge of Epstein's abuses, who died in his cell in 2019 while awaiting trial for charges of child trafficking. The first lady insisted that "my name has never appeared in court documents, victim statements, or FBI reports linked to the Epstein case."

The first lady denies any relationship with Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, despite the existence of documentary evidence. There is a series of emails exchanged between the two women, which Melania has dismissed. She also assured that the little relationship she had with Epstein and Maxwell was because they coincided at social gatherings. One of the most well-known photographs from the Epstein case is where the four of them appear at a party: Melani, Trump, Epstein, and Maxwell.
