A magnitude 7.4 earthquake shakes Colombia

BarcelonaAn earthquake of magnitude 7.4 has shaken a large part of Colombia, according to the Colombian Geological Service, although there is still no detailed information on damage or victims. The tremor occurred at 7:34 local time (2:34 PM in Catalonia), with the epicenter in the town of San José del Palmar, on the Pacific coast, at a depth of 82 kilometers. The tremor was also felt in the capital, Bogotá, which is 400 kilometers away, and even in Ecuador.

For the moment, the authorities have reported material damage in cities such as Manizales and Cali, where parts of the facades of many buildings have collapsed, according to Efe.
