Barclays will lay off 5,000 workers from its global workforce

Artificial intelligence threatens everything. The British bank Barclays will eliminate about 5,000 jobs, 5% of its global workforce, as part of a cost-cutting and "technological investment" program. One thousand positions have already been cut, and the remaining 4,000 will disappear before the end of the year.
