Model Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford, dies at 27
The young man was trying to recover from different mental problems and they have found him dead in a rehabilitation center
BarcelonaModel Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died at the age of 27 yesterday, Sunday, at a rehabilitation center in Los Angeles. The family has requested privacy while the autopsy results are awaited.
Gerber, older brother of fellow model and actress Kaia Gerber, grew up on the runways. At just 15 years old, he began working for the agency IMG Models and soon became one of the familiar faces of international runways: he walked for the firm Moschino and Dolce & Gabbana and starred in campaigns for Calvin Klein.
In recent years, Presley had used his popularity to speak openly about his struggle with depression, panic attacks, and addiction. Through social media initiatives such as Mental Health Mondays, the young man transparently shared his recovery with the goal of helping other people in similar situations and breaking the taboo surrounding mental disorders.
"[Mental health] It is a real problem. It occupies a very large part of my life. It is a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week job, and it involves many things," said Presley. "This is really what I want to do: help people, whether you are depressed or struggling with something that has a negative effect on your body. I mean, it can be anything, and no one will judge you," he added. The young man spoke very openly about his entire recovery process: "I have seen many things and I have learned a lot. What I hope is to have made the mistakes myself for other people, so that they do not have to make the same ones I did."
Another video, published in July 2025, dealt with the integration of healthy habits into his life. He said that as a child he was a "very active" boy, who played sports and practiced surfing, water polo, and swimming. But when he started working, sports took a backseat: "My quality of life decreased rapidly," he stated.
In the September 2026 issue of Vogue magazine, Kaia reflected on her brother's struggle with addiction, and expressed her admiration for Presley for speaking so openly about his problems and showing himself to be vulnerable. "My parents, for most of our lives, were very, very private and didn't share anything. And now we have this great teacher, my brother, who says: 'I will be very human with everyone.' There comes a point where you can't hide things from the world," she said. "And trying to cover something up just makes the person feel like you're ashamed of it," she added.
