Temperatures have risen somewhat at the start of the weekend, and will do so even more so on Sunday, although the weather will remain generally mild. These temperatures will be normal for the time of year, with neither extreme heat nor cold, but they will be accompanied by the arrival of clouds, which will make the sky more overcast throughout. Scattered, minor showers are expected, with the possibility of local downpours. This situation will remain similar on Monday, when the bulk of the precipitation could affect the Valencian Community and be more intense and abundant. They will be very indirect effects of the ex-hurricane Gabrielle, which will reach the southwest of the peninsula already converted into a storm, and which will drive humid winds from the sea towards the land in our Mediterranean area.

Forecast map for Sunday morning.

Sunday: most unsafe time

The ex-hurricane Gabrielle It will impact, now in the form of an extratropical storm, southern Portugal and destabilize the weather in many areas of the Peninsula. In fact, downpours with strong winds could fall in the southwest of the peninsula. Everything will be far from our home, but between Sunday and Monday, the counterclockwise direction of this storm will drive offshore winds towards the land, laden with humidity and instability, which will cause possible downpours in the Valencian Country, which we should monitor closely.

Thus, cloud cover will increase throughout Sunday, and in some regions, the sky will even be quite heavy, especially in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, and also in the far south. Scattered showers are expected in the regions of Tarragona and Castellón, as well as in parts of the Pre-Pyrenees and the southern face of the Pyrenees, especially the western one. While this will be relatively light, some more localized showers or sprinkles cannot be ruled out in the rest of the country.

Forecast map for Sunday afternoon.

Minimum temperatures will rise significantly due to cloud cover, which will make it less chilly at night. Maximum temperatures will be similar, with mild temperatures in the middle of the day and some temperatures near 29°C or 30°C.

Monday: Showers in the Valencian Community

The week will start with more stable weather in Catalonia, where there will be more sunny spells and almost no precipitation. Furthermore, temperatures will drop everywhere, and the atmosphere will become cooler once again. Keep an eye on the Valencian Community, where the arrival of a humid wind will bring significant rainfall, with rainfall figures that could occasionally exceed 100 l/m2 or 150 l/m2 in Valencia.
