The Catalan Iris Tió adds the first gold for Spain
The swimmer conquers first place on the podium at the European synchronized swimming championships
Catalan Iris Tió has broken the spell and made the Spanish anthem sound for the first time at the Paris Europeans, after winning gold this Tuesday in the technical solo synchronized swimming final.
Tió, who achieved a score of 263.6250 units, was only two tenths of a point ahead of the Belarusian Vasilina Khandoshka, gold medalist in the French capital in the free routine, who had to settle for the silver medal on this occasion with a mark of 263.3817. The German Klara Bleyer completed the podium, achieving third place with a total of 258.0400 points.
With this gold from Tió, who already had two silvers and a bronze in these championships, the Spanish artistic swimming team has accumulated six medals at the Paris Europeans.
