Araujo leaves Barça

Hansi Flick does not count on him as a starter and has considered that the best thing for him is to seek minutes at another team. Araujo signed a multi-million euro renewal with Barça until 2031 at the beginning of 2025. Convinced by Deco, the Catalan footballer decided to extend his contract instead of moving to Italian club Juventus, which at that time was paying a transfer fee to take him in the winter market. That decision has not been followed by better performance. Quite the opposite. Last season, in fact, he lost prominence to the point that Flick preferred other players over him to play as a center-back. He also had to stop for a while to overcome mental health problems.

Under this agreement, Barça will free up a significant salary, as Liverpool will assume it entirely in exchange for having the footballer at their disposal for the next campaign, in which he will play in the Champions League under his new coach, Andoni Iraola. This move will facilitate the registration of new Blaugrana signings. Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi are not yet on the list of registered players in the Spanish league.
