Further south, you can relax on the island of Djerba, with its fine sandy beaches, lively markets, and Mediterranean atmosphere. And on the way back north, you'll stop in El Djem, home to the majestic Roman amphitheater, one of the best-preserved from the ancient world. The trip ends in Monastir and Sousse, two coastal cities that combine historical heritage and maritime charm, with their whitewashed medinas and fortresses.
