BarcelonaThe Tres Pins School in Barcelona is located in the heart of Montjuïc mountain. The tranquility of this idyllic setting has been disrupted since last October by a man who has been throwing stones at the school, neighbors, families, and buses, as has been reported. The world on RAC1 And the ARA has confirmed it. Since then, the families have lived in fear: "We've been living in fear for months," explains M., the mother of a girl at the school and a member of the AFA. Now the Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested the individual who matched the described profile, and they assure that, since the arrest, "no similar incidents have been recorded."

It all started in mid-October 2025 when a man He began approaching the school grounds, throwing stones at the school, the children, families' cars, and local buses—specifically line 55. The stones caused damage. "They're thick and quite large, almost a hand's width," M. describes. She adds that families had even seen the man carrying a bag full of stones. Beyond the stone-throwing, families have also described instances of harassment. "A mother from the school reported that the man confronted her, pushed her against a wall, and grabbed her forcefully," she explains. On another occasion, the arrested man approached a girl who was with her mother and tried to take her away: "Come with me and let go of your mother," he told her. These incidents, which are just a few examples of the constant tensions experienced in the area, have led to changes in the daily routines of some families, such as M., who explains that she used to walk to pick up her daughter and now goes by car to "avoid the area as much as possible." On January 15th, there was another incident of stone-throwing at a number 55 bus: the individual smashed the bus window, and as a result, a passenger over 50 years old suffered an eye injury.

Alerts to 112 and a formal complaint

Given this situation, on occasion the children from the school had to be escorted by police to Foixarda, on Montjuïc itself, to prevent them from being harassed during the field trip. Because of all this, the parents of the school filed complaints with the administration, both with the Barcelona City Council and the district and Education Consortium. "The solution isn't easy," says M., "but we want to feel safe and protected."

From October to February, two complaints were registered by families of the school due to a series of incidents that had generated concern among the families. The 112 emergency line also received up to seven calls alerting them that a man was throwing stones at a bus on line 55 and that he had also been involved in an assault, which led to a formal complaint being filed with the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police). Following these reports, police services were activated immediately. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) and the Barcelona City Police (GUB) contacted the school administration and a school protection plan was implemented. Simultaneously, searches were conducted in the nearby mountainous area to try to locate and identify the person allegedly responsible for the incidents. Finally, the Mossos arrested an individual matching the described profile, and since his arrest, no further incidents have been reported. Despite the absence of further incidents, the police have decided to maintain a preventative presence "to guarantee the safety and peace of mind" of the school community.
