Two changes in half a year
In less than half a year, two key areas within the Department of Education have changed leadership. Before Güell, last October, the secretary of educational improvement, Josefa Beltran, also left her position. She was replaced by Ignasi Giménez, who in recent months has been the visible face of the Government in the negotiations between Education and the unions. Furthermore, Güell's resignation has come at a time when the Minister of Education, Esther Niubó, remains away from her post for medical reasons. A leave that has already lasted two months and is being covered by the Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau.
