BarcelonaOn Monday morning, just before the big blackoutThe Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) and the National Police carried out a major operation with more than 150 officers from various units deployed in the Vallès Occidental and Baix Llobregat regions. The timing was right, and the operation was closed before 12:33 p.m., when everything went offline. Specifically, as the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) announced this Friday, they arrested three suspected jihadists who were spreading extremist Daeix content on social media and even had extensive documentation at home referring to terrorist attacks. They ranged from a lone wolf attack (an attack by a single person) to several interpretations of martyrdom (sacrificing oneself in defense of a cause).

Two arrests took place in Castelldefels (Baix Llobregat) and the third took place in Montcada i Reixac (Vallès Occidental).

The investigation was conducted jointly by the Central Counterterrorism Area and the Foreign Intelligence Operational Unit of the General Intelligence Commissariat of the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police), and the Barcelona Provincial Intelligence Brigade, in collaboration with the General Intelligence Commissariat of the National Police. The suspects had several social media profiles where they shared terrorist propaganda content and justified Daeix's actions and attacks. One of them even made threats against several people, also on social media.
