BarcelonaThe Catalan police (Mossos d'Esquadra) and the Catalan Fire Brigade are searching the Tossa de Mar area of La Selva for a 24-year-old British man who disappeared in the United Kingdom on April 30, 22 days ago. According to police sources, the Catalan police received a request from Interpol reporting that the young man could be on the Costa Brava, specifically between Tossa de Mar and Sant Feliu de Guíxols. His parents detected that his cell phone was located in that area.

The investigation began Wednesday night, and several units from the Fire Brigade and the Mossos d'Esquadra participated, in addition to the dogs from the canine units. The search led to the location of a van with English license plates registered in the name of the deceased. The vehicle belongs to a company based in Doncaster, in the north of England. The van was securely parked, locked, and showed signs of being abandoned at a viewpoint in Tossa de Mar. However, no trace of the young man was found.

The operation continued on Thursday, with the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) and Fire Brigade drones launched to search for signs of the young man among the cliffs, without success. The maritime police were also activated, conducting a search of the surface and the seabed.

However, due to the lack of clues to continue the search, the operation was ultimately suspended. It is not yet clear whether it will resume this Friday morning.
