Theft at the Conde de Godó Trophy: Movistar audiovisual equipment stolen
The Mossos d'Esquadra have opened an investigation, but the network can continue broadcasting the tennis tournament.

BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) are investigating a high-value robbery at the Real Club Tenis de Barcelona, which this week hosts the Conde de Godó Trophy, the Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell, which brings the best tennis players of the moment to the Catalan capital. According to ARA, this Saturday, while the qualifying round of the tournament was being played, thieves stole a large amount of audiovisual material from Movistar, which is broadcasting the championship live.
The material was stored at the Real Club Tenis facilities, and the value of the stolen items is estimated to be €30,000, according to initial estimates. Sources at Movistar confirm the robbery and assure that, although it was a major incident, the broadcast is not at risk because the stolen items have been replaced. The network has already filed a complaint with the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police), who have opened an investigation.
According to sources consulted by this newspaper, the police investigation is on track. In parallel, the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) have activated a public security operation for the tournament, which will become increasingly stricter as the days go by, as there will also be more attendees at the Barcelona courts, located in the Les Corts neighborhood. This operation, which is implemented every year, focuses on theft prevention, but also on counterterrorism prevention.
The Conde de Godó Trophy faces a key week of qualifying matches until Sunday, when the final is scheduled. The big favorite is Murcia-born tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, number two in the ATP rankings, who will make his debut this Tuesday.
