The UN warns that we are heading towards 2.8 degrees of warming by the end of the century

The 2015 Paris Agreement set the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 °C. But this is no longer a realistic scenario because the planet is heading towards 2.8 °C by the end of the century, as warned in the emissions gap report by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
