A train colliding with a trailer cuts off the R3 highway in Osona.
The collision occurred at low speed and caused no injuries, but Renfe rules out resuming service between Centelles and Vic today.

BarcelonaService on the R3 commuter train is disrupted between Centelles and Vic due to a low-speed collision between a train and a semi-trailer truck on the track crossing between Sant Miquel de Balenyà and Els Hostalets de Balenyà (Osona), according to Renfe and the Generalitat Fire Brigade. The collision caused no injuries, but forced the evacuation of between 50 and 60 passengers who were on the train, and Renfe does not expect to be able to resume service on the affected section throughout Tuesday.
The collision occurred near Brull. Firefighters were alerted at 8:14 a.m. after the truck became trapped on the track crossing. The driver, upon realizing the situation, activated the emergency brake to reduce speed, but ended up colliding with the vehicle, causing the train to derail. Passengers in the first carriage were previously notified of the collision, which was minor, according to Renfe spokesperson Antonio Carmona, who confirmed the incident in statements from the scene.
After the evacuation of the passengers, the Fire Brigade escorted those with the most mobility difficulties to Sant Miquel de Balenyà station on foot. Eight fire brigades, as well as Mossos d'Esquadra officers, are activated. Civil Protection has activated the Ferrocat plan alert and an alternative road service has been set up between Vic and Centelles.
For the time being, traffic on the affected section will not be restored this Tuesday, according to Carmona, who explained that a crane will first need to remove the truck and channel the train to a station. In addition, Adif teams have been deployed to assess the damage to the infrastructure and repair it. The spokesperson said it was still "too early" to know if service can be restored on Wednesday.
Carmona emphasized the "good" performance of the driver, who, upon exiting a curve, saw the truck stopped on a farm track and activated the emergency brake. He emphasized, however, that the train was traveling at the speed it should have and that the incident occurred in a section with good visibility. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) will now take charge of the investigation to determine why the truck, which was not transporting hazardous materials, was stopped on the track.
In parallel with the traffic on the R3, the R4 is experiencing delays that could exceed 20 minutes on trains departing from Sant Vicenç de Calders due to speed limits on a single-track section between Sant Vicenç de Calders and Martorell Central, due to roadworks. In addition, on the R1 and RG1, there are delays that could exceed 15 minutes due to an incident at Badalona station.
