BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) are investigating the death of a man found with signs of foul play this Thursday morning in the Francesc Macià Gardens in Vilanova i la Geltrú, in the Garraf region. Municipal sources indicate that the victim was homeless and that the police are working to clarify the circumstances of the death.

The victim is a man in his 50s who was sleeping on the streets. For now, everything points to the fact that he died from knife wounds, according to sources with access to the case. One of the investigators' priorities is to identify the victim. The police are also focusing on reconstructing what he did in the previous days in search of motives for the possible attack.

The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) received a call at around 7:00 a.m. that a person had died in a public street. When they arrived at the gardens where the body was found, they found it to be a man who showed signs of foul play, the police force explained. Therefore, a death due to natural causes has been ruled out. The investigation has been handed over to officers from the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC).

Along with the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police), paramedics from the Emergency Medical System (SEM) also went to the scene where the body was found, but were only able to certify his death.
