A second family reports the caretaker of the Torelló school for sexual assault

BarcelonaThe family of a minor child has filed a second complaint for sexual violence against a janitor at the Doctor Fortià i Solà school in Torelló. On April 21, another family had already filed a complaint against the same school worker for sexual assault. After this, the Mossos d'Esquadra arrested the janitor, who was brought before the court in Vic and is currently released on bail.

The school is a center for early childhood and primary education, and both affected minors would be of young ages. The Department of Education states that they cannot apply any disciplinary or precautionary measures because the employee does not report to the department. However, the same sources explain that the violence protocol has been applied at the center and the USAV (Unit for Support to Students in Situations of Violence) and the Bienestar para estar bien program have been activated. The school's families are already aware of the case after the management sent a statement following the first reported case.
The second complaint, reported by El 9 Nou and confirmed by ARA, was filed after the first family had already reported and when this second family suspected that their child might also have been a victim of sexual assault, according to sources consulted by ARA.
On the part of the City Council, municipal sources assure that the foreseen mechanisms had been applied from the outset and that work has been carried out in coordination with the educational center, Inspection, and Education.
