BarcelonaThe new Secretary General of Education —the number 2 to the minister Esther Niubó— will be Marta Clari i Padrós. As the ARA has learned, Clari will replace Teresa Sambola, who had held the position since the beginning of the term as the minister's right-hand woman. Niubó announced this very Monday that she was replacing Sambola, after explaining the conclusions of the investigation into the errors made in the PISA sample that have invalidated Catalonia's results in the OECD tests.

Until now, Clari served as manager of the Area of Social Rights, Health, Cooperation and Community of the Barcelona City Council. A clinical child psychologist and social pedagogue by training, she has worked since 1990 at the Barcelona municipal government. In these thirty years, she has held various management responsibilities within local administration. Among others, she has been manager of the Barcelona Libraries Consortium and manager of the Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB).

In the educational field, between 2019 and 2023, Clari held the management of the Area of Culture, Education, Science and Community of the Barcelona City Council, a structure from which the Barcelona Education Consortium and the Barcelona Libraries Consortium depended.

Previously, the future Secretary General of Education was director of the Torre Llobeta Civic Center, head of culture for the Nou Barris District, and manager of the organization Clowns Without Borders.
