"Masters of ceremony" for a dozen attackers: the brutal rape of a minor in the Valencian Community goes to trial

At the trial, which is being held this week, the Civil Guard officers who took over the investigation of the case stated that there are indications that up to fifteen men may have participated in the assault. the assault, they emphasized.

In their statement, the officers described the victim as "immature, timid, and with low self-esteem" and stressed that it was clear that she was "very young" both from her physique and from the way she spoke to "some of them." The young woman, who testified while protected by a screen, explained that her alcohol consumption prevented her from being aware of what had happened, screaming for help, or leaving. "I didn't have the strength to do anything," she summarized.

The victim, who recounted being forced to perform oral sex and repeatedly raped by numerous men in succession, explained that she initially refused to report the incident out of "fear" of what "they would say" about her in her town, which is "a small town" where "people talk a lot."

According to the court records, after the assaults, at around 5 a.m., the young woman asked a third defendant to take her to her grandmother's house in a car. The man pressed the condition that she perform fellatio on him, a request the minor refused. Shortly after, when the young woman was already at home and still somewhat dazed, she received a message from one of the two men who had participated in the initial assaults, suggesting they have sex, an offer the minor accepted.

For these events, the Prosecutor's Office is seeking a 24-year prison sentence for one of the young men for two counts of sexual abuse of a minor under the age of sixteen. Two others face a 12-year prison sentence for one count of sexual abuse. The last faces a five-year prison sentence for one count of corruption of minors. All four will testify on June 3.

Those who have already offered their testimony are some partygoers who have claimed they did not see the minor being sexually abused. However, they have retracted the statements they made to the Civil Guard, when they confirmed they did see it. Some of these witnesses were initially arrested but later released because their involvement in the incident could not be proven.
