The Mossos d'Esquadra are trying to locate the gunman.
BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) are investigating another homicide in Catalonia. Around 5:00 PM this Monday, the Catalan police received a report of a shooting in the middle of a street in Castelldefels. Upon arriving at the scene, in the urban area of the city, emergency services found a person wounded by gunfire. The victim, a man, later died, according to ARA. Officers are now trying to locate the shooter. The body has not yet been removed. According to sources consulted by this newspaper, initial reports point to an execution, precisely because of the way the crime was committed. So far, although the entire perimeter has been cordoned off, the police have not been able to locate the gunman. This type of crime is often linked to drug trafficking, a factor the Mossos are analyzing. This is the third violent death in Catalonia in just a few hours. The first incident occurred early Sunday morning in Molins de Rei, during a fight between two men, which ended with one of them fatally stabbed. The second incident is still under investigation: the body of a man with a gunshot wound was found in Tarragona, and authorities are looking into whether it could be related to a hunting incident.
