BarcelonaA year ago in an interview with La Vanguardia, the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, maintained that, despite the differences regarding the national question, Aliança and his party had important points in common. "There is no clash because at this moment Aliança is focused on criticizing illegal immigration and not so much on separatist ambition," said Abascal. "Aliança's anti-immigration discourse is good news about how Spanish society is changing and how Catalonia is also changing. These truly important concerns will unite the Spanish people, and in Catalonia, this is happening in an accelerated way. The rejection of mass immigration of people influenced by Islamic fanaticism will unify Spain."
This reading by the top Vox leader is shared by a broad spectrum of the Spanish right and far-right, who do not stop celebrating Sílvia Orriols. An evident example we saw last week. The journalist Javier Negre, founder of the far-right digital media outlet EDATV, accused of spreading fake news, praised the fact that Aliança had decided not to run in the Spanish elections. "I increasingly like the phenomenon of Sílvia Orriols to replace those who came to plunder Spain using independence and to blackmail the central government," maintained the director of this platform where Vito Quiles works, who has had his accreditation withdrawn from Congress for harassing left-wing politicians.
One of the great benchmarks of the radical right's communicative sphere, the director of esRadio, Federico Jiménez Losantos, has also dedicated numerous editorials praising Orriols. The day after the announcement of the election call, the presenter spoke of the "great speech" by the leader of Aliança at the general policy debate, predicted an Aliança victory following the poll by La Vanguardia and even defended a government led by Aliança against Islam with "whatever is left of Junts, the PP and Vox".
Losantos, who attributed Junts' rejection of the housing decrees to the rise of Aliança as Orriols herself did, has reiterated on several occasions that he agrees with her on everything she says except for her commitment to independence: "She makes the appropriate diagnosis of the two great problems in Catalonia, which are the woke dictatorship and Islam. She has a speech about feminism that I wish the PP would make and about Islamism, everything she says is gospel".
In the same vein, Bertrand Ndongo has expressed himself, a contributor to Periodista Digital after being under the orders of Negre and being an advisor to Vox in the Madrid Assembly. "She only has one flaw, but only one," he said about her after her intervention in the general policy debate in reference to the fact that she is an independentist.
The writer Lucía Etxebarria, who has veered to the right to the point of defending the Spanish nationalist demonstrations for Ceuta and criticizing the encampments for housing, also does not hide her admiration for Orriols, whose firm convictions she values and the fact that she is not afraid to express them, especially against Islam, despite also rejecting independence.
But if Orriols' message has reached the rest of the State, it has been thanks to key influencers of the Spanish extreme right, such as Wall Street Wolverine or Sr. Liberal, close to Vox, who have shared videos of her interventions. These videos have caught the attention of right-wing figures like Manuel Llamas, director of the Instituto Juan de Mariana, a think tank that in 2024 awarded Argentine President Javier Milei for his defense of liberal ideas.
Llamas has stated that, "apart from separatism, Orriols is one of the few politicians who speak uncomfortable truths regarding pensions, welfare payments, or immigration" and has predicted that she will be "the future president" of Catalonia. Like Llamas, Juan Ramón Rallo, former director of this same think tank, has also attributed to Orriols the vote by Junts against the housing decrees.
The journalist José Antonio Vizner, current CEO of Negocios TV, also talks day in and day out about the "cyclone" Orriols.
The veneration for Orriols has also reached the ranks of Vox. The former vice president of Castile and León, Juan García-Gallardo, has shared videos of Orriols and used them to argue that Vox should adopt a discourse more similar to hers. Ada Lluch from Tortosa, a prominent figure in the Trumpist environment and the international radical right, recently called on Aliança voters to vote for Vox, to "save Catalonia from becoming an Islamic caliphate".
