Someone will answer that the parties that have governed and govern Catalonia also do not have the solution to the problems of access to housing (which slows down the birth rate and spreads pessimism of a lack of future among young people), the overflow of public health and schools, theghettoizationof the neighborhoods and the growing inequality, but what is certain is that attacking each other with verbal or physical violence will never bring us anything good. We know from history that fascism is based on violence.
In Catalonia, we have increased our population by two million in the last 25 years. So many different people arriving so quickly is not easy to manage, and even less so without the tools of our own state, sufficient funding, and without pursuing those responsible for the problems of coexistence wherever they exist. But to consider that everything that happens to us is the fault of this increase and that this can be solved with mass deportations, night hunts, and collective finger-pointing is so easy it's cowardly. If immigration has come here, it's because someone has given them work. On the other hand, it would be braver to attack the interests of those who have specialized us in being a country of tourism and services and pay low wages to low-skilled labor in low-value-added sectors.
The discourse of fear destroys society, and we shouldn't accept it as a reason to vote, much less that hatred is increasingly becoming a reason for a desirable fight for more Catalan voters. Much less a reason to live.
