Any headline that says something like "Catalonia is not an underfunded region"It's striking. So I was interested in reading how the Secretary General of the People's Party of Catalonia, Santi Rodríguez, justified it, but, as I suspected, I didn't find a single convincing argument. He even resorted to that old and false notion, 'In the end, it's not what the territories contribute, it's what the people contribute.' It's the territories that pay, not the people. So, of course the territories pay.

I've always found it contradictory to run for office claiming to defend the interests of citizens (those of Catalonia, in this case) and not want what's best for them."I know the Generalitat needs more funding, and it will get it."(Not like the pact between PSOE and ERC, but it'll happen, I was saying).

But where the festival reaches the level of the upside-down world is, as always, with Catalan. Mr. Rodríguez says that "Catalan has become unfriendly." I looked to see if there's been a flood of cases of customers being spoken to in the past. So we're at the forefront of the street: "Young people speak less Catalan than ever because it's being imposed on them, and young people are rebelling and are the first to stop speaking Catalan." Only Monsignor Argüello was missing adding to "whatever he can do, let him do."
