Aürt restaurant closes to reopen in 2026 in a more central location
Until now, Artur Martínez's restaurant, with a Michelin star, was in the Hilton Diagonal Mar in Barcelona

BarcelonaThe restaurant Aürt, by chef Artur Martínez, located in the Hilton Diagonal Mar Hotel, is in great shape six years after its opening. That is why the chef from Terrassa has made the risky decision to move it to a more central location to find "a setting more in line with the gastronomic proposal", in an environment "conducive to a more immersive, intimate and comfortable experience".
This means that the restaurant will close its doors in May and will not reopen until 2026 in a new location that is not yet closed. Meanwhile, the chef and his team will take over Mön, which will open at the end of the year in the same hotel where the flagship restaurant, which has a Michelin star, is leaving. Mön will be a more informal restaurant, with Catalan and international cuisine and cocktails, designed to satisfy the public that visits the hotel and with the seal of Martínez's team. The chef acknowledges that they are in a "sweet and mature moment" and that these months of traffic will give them "impulse and perspective" and will mean a "reset necessary to update."
In 2019, Martínez dared to move the restaurant Capricho from Terrassa to Barcelona, transformed into Aürt, to the location he is now leaving. The move paid off and now he is repeating the operation to continue growing. Just a year ago, the chef opened the tapas restaurant El Buen Gusto 1952 in the same Vallesan premises where his grandparents' bar was.
The Aürt restaurant is known for working with local produce and giving the humblest ingredients a supreme role, putting technique at their service. This approach has earned it the applause of food critics and also of prestigious chefs, such as Ferran Adrià, who at the last Madrid Fusión congress said that Artur Martínez is one of the chefs he likes the most and with whom he enjoys debating thanks to his reflective attitude. The Aürt project, therefore, was no longer done justice by the space of the hotel, located very close to the hotel. hall, and which is also in a part of the city that is not very well connected, and that is why this parenthesis begins while waiting for a new house.
