The Municipal Market Institute has notified the company Cocina-Dos Barcelona of the award for €458,127 for a non-renewable 24-year contract. Of the three projects submitted to the competition, this option received the highest score, far ahead of the other two. The company Cocina-Dos is formed by the Torres brothers, chefs and owners of the Les Corts restaurant Cocina Hermanos Torres, and the Pantea Group. This bid demonstrates the close relationship between this alliance, as it would be the second project they have shared. Regarding the proposed project for Parada Torres at the Santa Caterina Market, it consists of two spaces. First, a terrace with capacity for 24 people. And second, a bright and spacious interior space with two bars: a small one on one side and a large central one, reminiscent of a large market bar. The goal is to play with elements native to the area, such as the colors of the restrooms, inspired by Catalan rationalism. The restaurant area will feature a neutral environment with pops of color: primarily white and red. It will also be visible from the outside, where the word Torres will be visible in large vinyl decals.
Pantea Group has taken great care with the aesthetics of its projects, such as the Público wine bar (on Enric Granados) or Eldelmar itself, which it shares with the Torres family.
