The Catalan sitcom returns: 'La casa nostra', by Dani de la Orden, lands on 3Cat.
The director of 'House on Fire' premieres a sitcom

Barcelona"Family," "party," "fun," "hot." These are the words the actors use to describe Our house, the sitcom that Dani de la Orden and Oriol Pérez have filmed for the 3Cat platform and which premieres this Wednesday. Two friends who live together, Miqui and Èric, end up sharing an apartment with the parents of one of them, who are separated and can't stand each other. According to the directors, the concept for the series emerged more than ten years ago, after its premiere. Barcelona, summer night"Even though I had the idea for the premise ten years ago, what it explains has now become a reality and the idea no longer seems so original," they say, referring to the current housing problem.
Dirty dishes and Jet lag They are the two benchmarks of Catalan sitcoms, but the genre had been shelved on public television for decades. While the protagonists in Joel Joan and Jordi Sánchez's series were David and Lopes, in Dani de la Orden's series, they are Miqui and Èric, also roommates. The same format: three walls, an audience in the background, few sets, and the bar, in this case Candela's, as the meeting point.
Why 'La casa nostra'?
The title of the series recalls the well-known expression used to refer to the Sicilian mafia, La Cosa Nostra. During the promotion, the director assured that they wanted to reflect the idea of a clan. "It arose from the Italian mafia, it has nothing to do with the house on fire and my obsession with houses. In the end, it talks about a family, a clan, as if it were a mafia. You play a super complicated and complex game, which is to change one letter and there you have it," he jokes.
One of the challenges is getting the series to become part of the conversation. "We want to share it and for people to start loving these characters. We are living through some turbulent months and I think it is necessary to find these spaces with the family and share it with that other family that is Our house"says Marc Rius, who plays Miqui. They think it will be popular, because the audience who attended the shoot was warm and they clearly had a great time, even though each session lasted more than three hours.
Marc Rius plays Miqui, and he is accompanied by Adrian Grösser, who plays Èric, who in addition to being a charismatic young man is also his best friend, and Llum Barrera, who embodies Pilar, his mother. "She is a mother who gives a lot of play and is only worried about herself. She makes marijuana infusions or smokes a joint, and her son has to deal with it," explains the Mallorcan actress. Albert Ribalta takes on the role of Josep, a "fascist and retrograde" father, according to him, and Paula Malia plays Berta, the new neighbor in the building, who according to the actress "is like a chick, but she's also like a Gremlin when you wet her." Finally, Betsy Túrnez plays Candela, the bar owner and also a psychologist, confidant and friend of the characters, and influencer Núria Casas is in charge of giving life to Ruth, Miqui's ex.
It is common that in the sitcoms different familiar faces appear beyond the main cast of the series. In this case, the cameos are by Magí García, Silvia Abril, Ignasi Taltavull or the influencer Laura Llobet. The series team has explained that there will be other types of guests, from the animal world, who will help make the gags funnier. In addition, The Tyets has been commissioned to produce the theme song. sitcom, in which the actors have participated.
The whole team agrees on one thing, and that is that if all goes well they want to continue making this series for many more years. "It's a story that can continue indefinitely, like Tell me how it happened", say Dani de la Orden and Oriol Pérez, who defend that it is a series to "relax". "The sitcoms They promise you that in the tenth second you'll have the first joke. It's much more complicated to think about and much less complicated to consume; it's a product of not thinking," they emphasize.
