BarcelonaUS President Donald Trump has given more details about his break with entrepreneur Elon Musk, a key player in his return to the White House. The Republican leader, who wanted to emphasize that he considers Musk "a formidable person," admitted that the South African tycoon "got angry" and that his behavior was not the most appropriate.
"Elon is a brilliant man, and I'm sure he'll do well. He's smart. He participated in my campaign and, in fact, collaborated on several things. But at the end, he got a little angry, and that was not right," Trump said in an interview on the program Sunday Morning Futures from Fox News Channel.
The conflict dates back to early June, when Musk criticized the fiscal and budget plan promoted by Trump, which according to several estimates could increase the US public debt by more than two trillion dollars.
Musk, who left his position as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) at the end of May, later declared that Trump appeared in the files related to the case of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, which supposedly included the names of accomplices. Trump, for his part, responded harshly, stating that Musk had gone "CRAZY."
This Sunday, Trump once again attributed the Tesla CEO's discomfort to the proposal to eliminate tax incentives for electric vehicles, included in the budget plan recently accepted for debate in the Senate.
