The Ebro car manufacturer earned €105 million in the first half of its operations in the Free Trade Zone.

BarcelonaThe automotive firm Ebro EV Motors, which began producing cars at the former Nissan plant in Barcelona's Zona Franca less than a year ago, posted sales of €105.2 million during the first half of its fiscal year. This growth has been driven by "the successful commercialization of its new sustainable vehicles," explains the group, which counts the Chinese company Chery as a minority partner. In fact, the brand has achieved a 2.52% market share in the plug-in hybrid SUV segment.

Through September, Ebro has sold 9,029 vehicles, a figure that gives it a 0.82% share of the total consumer car market, according to the manufacturers' association Anfac. At the end of June, the company had more than 1,300 employees, 900 of whom are part of the reindustrialization roundtable agreement. The company, listed on the BME Growth market, expects to launch a new production line before the end of the year.

During the first six months of 2025, Ebro launched the s800 hybrid model and began production of the s700 and s400. Furthermore, as a result of the results achieved, the company closed an agreement with Goodman to expand its logistics and production capacity by 57,000 square meters.

According to Rafael Ruiz, president of Ebro EV Motors, "the first half of the year has been a period of acceleration and learning, with key advances in the expansion strategy." The executive also highlighted that by September they already had 68 points of sale spread throughout Spain.

The Zona Franca factory has produced a total of 10,300 vehicles since it began operating in November of last year. With the addition of 900 people who were included in the reindustrialization plan, coming from the former Nissan company, 75% of the planned total has already been reached. According to Ebro, direct and indirect jobs now exceed 2,500.
