BarcelonaThe construction materials company Molins, under the brand specializing in urban furniture Escofet, has inaugurated its first production plant in the United States in the state of Oklahoma. With the new plant, as the Catalan company reported in a statement, Molins hopes to bring industrial capacity closer to its customers, reduce delivery times, and respond with greater agility to the needs of the American and Canadian markets. Currently, the North American market represents nearly 6% of the turnover of the urban landscape business. With the start-up of the new plant, the industrial company aspires to increase its weight to 30%. Until now, Molins supplied both countries with exports from Europe.
The factory has 3,000 square meters built on a 2.4-hectare plot and is located in Elk City. As the company indicates, the opening expands Molins' international industrial capacity in the field of solutions for the urban landscape and reinforces its strategy of producing increasingly closer to the markets in which it operates. The plant will begin its activity with the manufacture of eight of the Escofet brand references with the highest demand in the United States and Canada, and production will be expanded based on demand.
A team trained in Martorell
Molins CEO, Marcos Cela, has stated that the opening is part of the company's commitment to improving competitiveness and international growth, and he recalled that the company already operates in nineteen countries. "With this new factory, we are bringing our production capacity closer to our customers and strengthening our competitiveness," assured Cela.
Initially, the plant has been launched with a team trained at the Molins factory in Martorell, which, in order to be trained, has worked together with the company's technical and production teams to thoroughly understand the manufacturing processes and quality standards. However, the plans of the Baix Llobregat company involve the factory eventually having up to 50 employees as industrial activity progresses. Molins closed the first half of the year with a profit of 111 million euros, 16.8% more than in the same period last year.
