Frit Ravich will allocate 115 million to a new factory and a distribution center
The plant, in Maçanet, will generate up to 500 jobs and the distribution facility will be in Madrid
Frit Ravich will invest 115 million in a new plant in Maçanet de la Selva, where its current factory and headquarters are located, and in a new distribution center in Madrid. The works, which will begin next year, represent "a decisive step" in the execution of the strategic plan of the family business specialized in the production of potato chips, snacks, and nuts, as highlighted by the group. The production plant, where up to 500 jobs are expected to be created progressively, will occupy 33,000 square meters. The Madrid center will be used to optimize logistics and "continue raising service standards in the central and southern area," according to the company.
Both actions will be accompanied by "a strong commitment to new technologies and advanced solutions that will allow strengthening the company's capacity, efficiency, and competitiveness, as well as driving the challenge of reaching 600 million euros in turnover." Last year, its sales increased by 8%, reaching 359 million.
The new factory will focus mainly on the production of potato chips and popcorn, two of the strategic categories with the highest volume and leadership for the company. The current plant, of 26,000 square meters, will maintain its activity focused on nuts.
“This new infrastructure represents Frit Ravich's vision for the future and our commitment to innovation, efficiency, and the development of people and the territory. Expanding our production capacity is essential to provide the best response to our customers, strengthen our brands, and boost our dual role as reference manufacturers and distributors,” points out Judith Viader, General Manager of Frit Ravich.
Staff increase
It is expected that, thanks to the new plant, 500 jobs will be created "progressively over the coming years". With this expansion, the company's workforce would stand at nearly 2,000 people. Aligned with this growth, the new production center "will contribute to doubling Frit Ravich's total production capacity by the end of this decade". "Likewise, it foresees the possibility of quadrupling production capacity by 2050, through different expansion phases planned for the coming years", the group adds.
For its part, the new distribution center in Madrid will optimize operations in the central and southern area of the Peninsula and will allow maintaining the commitment of 24-hour delivery, ensuring maximum proximity, stock availability, and replenishment agility for customers in the food, hospitality, impulse, and bulk channels.
