Filmmaker and writer Alexander Kluge has died at the age of 94. He is one of the fathers of the New German Cinema of the 1960s and won the Silver and Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale in 1966 and 1968 (The Artists Under the Big Top). La Virreina dedicated an exhibition to him in 2016 as a European thinker.
