BarcelonaThe singer and musician Manu Guix has just released a new EP, Galàxies, and this Friday he stopped by El matí de Catalunya Ràdio to present it. During the conversation with Ricard Ustrell, he reflected on romantic and intimate relationships because the album explores the concept of love from different angles.

In this regard, Guix explained that, in this area, he attaches little importance to elements that have socially been considered essential. Among other things, he made it clear that he separates love from sex. "I don't know if it's a product of the fact that when I was very young my friends were older and from the theater, like for example Àngel Llàcer, who lived sexuality in a very open and very liberated way. For me, sex has a very important leisure aspect and doesn't have to be tied to love. Sex can be like going to the gym. It's having fun. As long as no one gets hurt, what's the harm?" reflects the singer.

Regarding romantic relationships, Guix is clear about which values are important to him and fidelity is not among the priorities. "Fidelity is something I never ask for, I don't ask to be faithful to me. I don't care. I value other things like commitment or loyalty," he says.

In Guix's new work there is a song, Astres, which was composed taking as a starting point the idea of a sexual orgy, an image that he has also used for the music video, which caused a stir on social media. In it, the singer appears having relations with several people at the same time. Guix admits that he has never had an orgy. "At 46 years old, it's about time," he jokes. Regarding the music video, he admitted that he got aroused while filming it.

The singer also assures that he is going through a very reflective moment because he is experiencing "the typical midlife crisis". "I think I'm already past the halfway point of my life because I'm 46 years old and I won't reach 92, I'll tell you that now. Not long ago I started going to a psychologist and he tells me that a lot of people go through this crisis. It's a time when you wonder if you have the life you want, if you've made the right choices in all aspects of your life. If you are satisfied. For the first time in my life, I think there are things I don't have time to do, and I had never considered that before," he reflects.

In the new EP, Guix has also included a song dedicated to his father, who died 25 years ago. "One of the things that breaks me is that I remember that the few times I told my father "«I love you» and he told me it was when he was already very, very ill. He had only a few weeks left to live. And now I think "«Why did I take so long? Why did he take so long to tell me?» I want to change that, I don't want my loved ones to have the memory that I haven't told them "«I love you»", he explains.
