The cloudiness will increase, although no episode of rain is expected

The weather this Tuesday has been radically different from Monday's, when atmospheric instability manifested in downpours and hailstorms that caused floods, material damage, and even injured several people (you will find a summary of Monday afternoon's storms at the end of this article). The week is advancing, however, with much calmer weather, and on Wednesday the novelty will be the presence of some clouds that will be abundant in the morning, but which will lose the battle against the sun during the afternoon.

Wednesday: morning with many clouds

The weather will remain quite stable as the week progresses, although this Wednesday there will be more cloud cover, which will leave the sky overcast in many regions during the morning. Clouds, in any case, will be mostly harmless, and will only bring some scattered showers or drizzle. The temperature will drop on the coast and pre-coast, while it will rise slightly in the western regions and notably in some parts of the northern regions of the country. The afternoon will be much sunnier, with the sun gaining ground from west to east from midday onwards.

Thursday: temperature rises

Clouds could make a comeback by Thursday, with some intervals of medium clouds moving from southwest to northeast. However, as will happen on Wednesday, no precipitation is expected, except for some isolated showers in the western Pyrenees during the afternoon. The temperature will rise and reach 35 ºC in Ponent and Empordà, before dropping again by Friday.

Balance of Monday's storms

The downpours that occurred during Monday afternoon affected a large part of the country's interior, especially the northern and western half, as well as many points along the Tarragona coast, and in many cases were accompanied by hail of significant size. This was the case in Tarragona, Móra d'Ebre, Llívia, or Puigcerdà, among others. The accumulated precipitation was remarkable, with 89 l/m² in Vinyols i els Arcs - Cambrils, 77 in Tarragona, 59 in Riudecanyes, 50 in Torredembarra, 43 in El Masroig, and 41 in Falset and Vielha.
