BarcelonaThe weather will be similar across our region these next few days, with sunshine prevailing and fog inland. The weather will continue to be influenced by the anticyclone, bringing calm and mild conditions, elements that favor rising temperatures at midday. The highest temperatures this Sunday ranged between 20°C and 22°C (reaching 22°C in Aldover and Benissanet and 20°C in Barcelona). Throughout this long weekend, we only saw some thin clouds associated with the fronts brushing the western Iberian Peninsula. There are few changes expected in the medium term, with only cloud cover arriving on Wednesday due to the proximity of a weak Atlantic front.

Forecast weather for Monday morning.

Monday of the Immaculate Conception with sun and fog

Fog will return to inland areas this Monday, particularly in the Pla de Lleida region, where it will be cold and damp. The fog will lower temperatures in the morning in the western part of the province, and when it dissipates, highs will reach around 13°C in the city of Lleida, though in more persistent areas, temperatures will not exceed 8°C. In Barcelona and Tarragona, temperatures will reach 19°C, with very light winds along the coast in the morning and a choppy sea, and southwesterly winds around midday, with a slight swell.

In most parts of the country, midday will be very mild, and the temperature difference between day and night will be significant. However, some areas will be colder, such as the central plateau, where persistent fog will keep morning temperatures below 6°C. In fact, the forecast temperature model shows bluish colors, indicating values 5°C lower than those recorded in recent days. In this case, some frosty fog is possible in the western part of the country between Monday and Wednesday. In some low-lying areas, temperatures will be somewhat lower early in the morning, such as in the Ebro Valley, where the cooled air from the Ebro Depression, typical of these anticyclonic conditions, will settle. Frost will be mild in the Pyrenean valleys.

Forecast weather for Monday afternoon.

Morning fog may appear in parts of the Costa Brava and also in the Balearic Islands, where it will be denser and more persistent.

Skifist front expected Wednesday

The high-pressure system will remain for most of the week, with no significant changes expected. The only development we'll see midweek will be increased cloud cover due to the approach of an Atlantic front, which will be relatively inactive at our latitudes. The skies will be overcast in the Pyrenees of Lleida and in the western part of the region, with morning fog alternating with thin clouds in the afternoon, making for a rather gray day. Looking ahead to next weekend, with the arrival of a new front, some light rain is possible in the western Pyrenees, but little else is expected.
