Fog could also appear on the coast on a mild Tuesday
The temperature will return to 19 or 20 °C during the middle of the day
BarcelonaFor days now, the weather forecast can be summed up as sun and fog, the main features of a monotonous situation that will continue even longer and doesn't allow us to foresee any significant rain or snow in the short or medium term. For the moment, Tuesday's weather will be practically identical to Monday's, although some fog will also appear along parts of the coast. However, clear skies will prevail, and the temperature will be mild at midday, with highs that will again be mild everywhere and snow that will gradually melt in the high Pyrenees.
Tuesday: more sun and fog
Fog will return to inland areas on Tuesday, particularly in the Pla de Lleida and the Plana de Vic, where it will be cold and damp until mid-morning. The fog will help to keep temperatures down wherever it appears, but in the rest of the country, mild weather will prevail, with temperatures easily exceeding 15°C and reaching 19 or 20°C in some areas. The new development will be the presence of fog along some stretches of the coast, especially in the southern half and the Costa Brava, but also in Mallorca and Menorca. Additionally, bands of high clouds will begin to arrive during the night, the only sign of an approaching front that will be harmless to Spain.
Wednesday: a skiff front arrives
The high-pressure system will remain for most of the week, with no significant changes expected. The only development we'll see midweek will be increased cloud cover due to the approach of an Atlantic front, which will be relatively inactive at our latitudes. Skies will be overcast in the Pyrenees of Lleida and in the western part of the region. Morning fog will give way to thin clouds in the afternoon, making for a rather gray day. Temperatures will drop almost everywhere, both day and night, although not drastically.
No rain on the horizon
The anticyclonic conditions will persist for the rest of the week, with some fronts reaching the western Iberian Peninsula, but they will not be strong enough to bring rain to the country. Temperatures will also remain largely unchanged, continuing to be above the mid-December average, with cold mornings inland due to temperature inversions. This lack of rain will accentuate a very dry end to autumn and beginning of winter, as it has been almost three weeks since it last rained in much of the country, with the notable exception of the Pyrenees and, especially, the westernmost part of the mountain range.
