CAST
The Generalitat de Catalunya wants to get ahead of the wave of retirements expected in public services with grants aimed at qualified young people. The initiative seeks to promote generational renewal and ensure the continuity and quality of public services with the incorporation of new profiles, especially with digital and innovative skills. The grants are 500 euros per month until the selection process is completed.
The receipt of the grant is subject to personal income tax (IRPF) withholding, and beneficiaries will receive it until the final test of the opposition phase. Valid until December 31, 2027, the program aims to encourage more qualified young people to take the step and apply for a position in the public services.
On one hand, the goal is to eliminate socioeconomic barriers that may, in some cases, prevent dedicating oneself fully to an opposition process, and on the other, to ensure that selection processes are developed under equal conditions and allow for the assessment of all applicants' capabilities.
The call for new positions not only facilitates access to new jobs but also contributes to building a more modern Administration prepared for the future. In short, it is about promoting generational renewal and incorporating new profiles capable of responding to new challenges and contributing to maintaining the continuity and quality of public services.
The requirements
The beneficiaries of these grants must be under 30 years of age, must not have been a beneficiary of grants called by the Generalitat de Catalunya or its public sector for the same purpose during the three years prior to the call for grants in which they wish to participate, nor simultaneously enjoy scholarships or grants of similar characteristics awarded by the Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Nor by any other public Administration or by private companies or entities.
To be able to apply for the grant, candidates cannot work for themselves or others for more than 30 hours per week. They must be up to date with tax obligations with the State and the Generalitat de Catalunya and with obligations to Social Security and, in addition, they cannot be in any of the situations established by article 13 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies Act.
Likewise, it is necessary to meet the requirements that were established in the last call to access the same body or scale referred to by this call for grants. The maximum annual income threshold calculated per member of the family unit has been set at 19,000.00 euros to be eligible.
The grant application must be submitted electronically through Tr脿mits gencat. The grants are intended for the preparation of the selection processes for the general Administration bodies, which over time must renew their staff with the incorporation of younger profiles and new competencies.
