The Mossos ask apartment by apartment in the block where a dead baby was found in a plastic bag

Sant Adrià de BesósThe Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating the discovery of a dead baby inside a plastic bag, in Sant Adrià de Besòs (Barcelonès), as reported by Metròpoli and confirmed by ARA. The events took place this Wednesday at noon when a person alerted to the presence of a plastic bag with blood on the landing of a stairwell in an apartment block on Llevant street, in the La Mina neighborhood. After 5 PM, the Catalan police continue to ask from apartment to apartment and in nearby shops to try to clarify the events.

In the bar next to the building, several neighbors tell ARA that the baby would be a newborn and that the worker cleaning the stairs would have found it still with the umbilical cord and would have alerted the emergency services. For now, the Catalan police have not provided any further details about the infant.

Neighbors who live in the same block where the baby was found explain that they do not believe the child was the son of any family in the block, as "everyone knows everyone." In fact, hours after the discovery, Catalan police officers continue to go door-to-door in nearby buildings asking residents for information about the events.

“Full of police, spectacular,” comments a neighbor who lives on the ninth floor of the same block where the child was found. The events have shocked the entire neighborhood, which, as hours passed, learned about it by word of mouth “or via TikTok,” explains a neighbor from a parallel block.

Both Mari and Ángeles, two neighbors from the blocks parallel to the affected building, regret that situations like this further stigmatize the neighborhood. "Something happens in the Besòs river and La Mina pays; something happens in Diagonal Mar, and La Mina pays; always the same, always the focus on La Mina".
