A man was shot dead in Barcelona's Eixample district in broad daylight.
Police are investigating the cause of the crime, which took place inside a doorway on Consell de Cent Street.

BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) are investigating the violent death of a man who was shot multiple times in Barcelona's Eixample district on Tuesday afternoon in broad daylight, inside the entrance to number 200 Consell de Cent street. The victim is a young man between 30 and 40 years old who was shot multiple times as he entered the building, according to the initial hypotheses of the Catalan police. In fact, ARA has been able to verify that the glass door of the building where the shots were fired had at least one hole that could have been the result of a bullet impact. However, the perpetrator or perpetrators managed to flee the scene of the crime, and the police are still searching for them.
This artery in the center of the Catalan capital, one of the busiest for pedestrians since it was pacified, was cut off between Comte d'Urgell and Villarroel streets at around 4:30 p.m., when a neighbor found the body of a man. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) and the Barcelona City Police arrived at the scene when they received the alert: officers from the Arro division and plainclothes patrols and citizen security were activated throughout the area, but the cage device was not activated, which reinforces surveillance at the city's exits to prevent...
According to sources close to the case, the main hypothesis at this time is that the victim was shot when entering the building and the body was left inside the entrance. The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) has taken charge of the investigation, and several units of the forensic police have been searching the area and looking for clues since shortly after the incident. The police's priority is, first, to identify the victim and, second, to locate the gunman. Therefore, officers have reviewed the cameras of businesses near the crime scene in an attempt to find any clues that will advance the investigation.
Open investigation
For the time being, however, the police investigation remains open to clarify the events and locate those responsible. Once the judicial delegation completed the relevant tasks and removed the body, at 7:30 p.m., the funeral services took the victim's body to the morgue, but the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) continued inspecting the crime scene in downtown Barcelona. The forensic police remained on the scene searching for further clues, such as fingerprints and other evidence that would lead to the identification of the victim and the perpetrators of the crime in the Consell de Cent superblock.
