Minor arrested for the death of a man who was stabbed while driving in Balaguer
At a first moment the crime seemed a road accident and the arrested person is 17 years old
BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 17-year-old adolescent for allegedly killing a young man by stabbing him while he was driving in Balaguer. In fact, at first the death seemed like a road accident, because the victim — a 26-year-old man — accelerated until he went off the road, collided with other vehicles and ended up overturning in the middle of the roadway.
The accident occurred on Wednesday, August 26, around eleven at night, within the urban area of Balaguer. Inside the crashed car was the man's body, who died in the accident.
Investigators realized that the victim's body showed signs of criminal violence prior to the road accident. Specifically, he had a stab wound and someone had stabbed him before the accident. At this point, the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the events and yesterday arrested a minor allegedly connected to the violent death. Police sources add that the motive with which the adolescent would have acted has not yet been clarified.
The arrested person for his alleged connection to the victim's violent death has been placed at the disposal of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office this Tuesday morning.
