Problems with T-Mobility: can't download on iPhone "temporarily"
Users who already have the application on their mobile can continue using it

BarcelonaApple has withdrawn the T-Mobilitat application from its software download market, the Apple Store, which allows users to access public transport in Barcelona by validating their ticket with an iPhone. The long-awaited app, which Android users have been using for three years, became available for download just a month and a half ago, but this Friday it disappeared from the virtual application store for iPhones. However, the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM) assures that this situation is "temporary" and clarifies that travellers who already have T-Mobilitat downloaded on their iPhone can continue using it, as it works correctly.
According to the ATM, the reason for the temporary withdrawal of the application from the Apple Store is that the California company has had to deliver some documents to the European Union regarding this application, and while the community executive analyses them, the software cannot be in operation. "The ATM has already submitted all the necessary documentation from the outset and we are waiting for Apple to complete the process so that the applications are available again as soon as possible," the ATM says, adding that they are in contact with the company to speed up these procedures.
It was not easy for the T-Mobilitat application to reach iPhones, since the ATM had to present objections to the agreement between the EU and Apple that did not allow the use of NFC technology to access public transport. In the summer, the European authorities accepted these objections. The temporary (and surprising) withdrawal of the T-Mobilitat application has caused complaints from users, and some of them have shared them on social networks.
