Crossed attacks between the US and Iran for the first time since July

The United States and Iran have exchanged attacks for the first time since the end of July. During the early hours of this Monday, Washington bombed two Iranian platforms on the island of Larak, located near the Strait of Hormuz, according to local media and confirmed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard itself. In a statement released by the Iranian agencies Fars and Tasmin, it indicated that the attack was carried out with drones and left several dead and injured, although they did not specify how many. Tehran, in retaliation, responded to the attack by launching missiles against two US bases in Jordan.

The attack by the United States against the island of Larak destroyed two platforms prepared to launch rockets loaded with sea mines that, as a US official indicated to the CNN chain, Iran was preparing to launch into the Strait of Hormuz. The President of the United States, Donald Trump, assured that Iran had already been warned that any vessel that placed new explosive devices in this maritime passage would be "immediately and systematically destroyed." A spokesman for the Revolutionary Guard assured that this "terrorist aggression will be punished."
