New crime in Catalonia: a corpse found in a vacant lot in Roses
The body shows signs of violence and the Mossos are investigating it as a homicide
BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating the discovery of a corpse with signs of violence in a vacant lot in Roses, in the Alt Empordà. At 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning a witness alerted that there was a corpse in a field next to the GI-610 road, which links the centre of Roses and Empuriabrava with other inland towns such as Palau-saverdera. The body shows signs of criminality and is being investigated as a homicide, according to the Mossos. The victim is a 32-year-old man, according to the ARA, and the Mossos investigators, the scientific police and the judicial delegation are at the scene to carry out the removal of the corpse.
Given the way the corpse has been located, it is not ruled out that the crime was committed elsewhere and that the perpetrator - or perpetrators - transported the man's body to that point and disposed of it by throwing it on the roadside. According to sources consulted by this newspaper, the corpse had blows to the head and wounds to the legs.
This is the tenth crime of 2025. The last one was two weeks ago, in Tortosa, where they found the body of a young man, also with signs of violence, in the area of the walls.
