Pula, on the Adriatic coast

Italy and Portugal, infinite travel options

Italy is an inexhaustible country, capable of offering very diverse travel proposals thanks to its scenic, cultural and gastronomic richness. At Eurovacances, this year they are focusing on three very different itineraries that allow you to discover some of the country's most attractive regions, combining nature, heritage and local traditions. On the one hand, a tour of the Dolomites, one of Europe's most spectacular mountain landscapes and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Staying in the alpine town of San Vigilio di Marebbe, you will take panoramic routes to enjoy the spectacular alpine scenery. The second proposal will take you to Puglia, in southern Italy; you will visit Bari, with its lively historic center and seafaring tradition; Lecce, known as the "Florence of the South" for the beauty of its Baroque architecture; Ostuni, the famous white city perched on a hill; Gallipoli, with its old town surrounded by the sea; and Alberobello, world-renowned for its characteristic trulli, the unique stone constructions with conical roofs. The third proposal in Italian lands will take you to the Aosta Valley, a perfect combination of nature and heritage. Staying in the city of Aosta, with an important Roman legacy and a pleasant mountain atmosphere, several excursions will be carried out to discover the impressive landscapes of the Matterhorn, the valleys and forests of the Gran Paradiso National Park, the alpine beauty of Val Ferret and the prestigious town of Courmayeur, at the foot of Mont Blanc; this trip culminates with a visit to Turin, a stately and refined city, known for its palaces, elegant squares and museums.Just as Italy offers multiple options, Portugal, with its archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira, is not far behind. You can tour the historic neighborhoods of the Portuguese capital with the traditional yellow trams, discover the heritage of Mafra, experience the relaxed atmosphere of Porto and historic Guimaraes. All this combined with exuberant nature, Atlantic cliffs, volcanic mountains, Laurisilva forests, a World Heritage Site, and levada paths that wind between waterfalls and infinite viewpoints on the island of Madeira. And if you want to go one step further in Portuguese lands, your next trip should take you to the Azores. The Azores archipelago emerges in the middle of the Atlantic as a volcanic paradise of emerald green lakes, immense craters, and almost untouched nature. On São Miguel, the largest of the islands, the landscapes of Sete Cidades and the thermal waters of Furnas are surprising, while Pico fascinates with the highest mountain in Portugal and the volcanic vineyards declared a World Heritage Site. On Terceira, the historic city of Angra do Heroísmo preserves the Portuguese maritime heritage among colorful streets and Atlantic fortifications. It is an experience of sustainable, wild tourism deeply connected with nature.

Bamberg, Bavaria, with the Town Hall and the Regnitz River

Romantic Germany and its neighbors

Following the line of short-distance trips, Eurovacances proposes a tour of the three Baltic republics. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania offer charming medieval cities, infinite forests, fairytale castles, and increasingly internationally recognized cuisine; from the cobbled streets of Tallinn to the cultural atmosphere of Riga or the baroque beauty of Vilnius, this trip becomes a unique experience for those seeking authenticity, tranquility, and landscapes that still retain the purest essence of Northern Europe. The second itinerary takes you to southern Germany, to travel along the so-called Romantische Straße (Romantic Road), created in the 1950s, after the war. The classic route goes approximately from Würzburg to Füssen, and its name has less to do with love than with the cultural movement of German Romanticism. Cities such as baroque Würzburg and the medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber are visited, as well as fairytale castles like Eltz Castle, and the Moselle and Rhine rivers are navigated to immerse oneself in German Romanticism. The other route that makes a mark is that of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which fuses the cultural richness of cities such as Sarajevo and Mostar with wild nature in Una National Park, with the famous Štrbački Buki waterfalls; an itinerary designed in collaboration with Eric Hauck, journalist, writer and honorary citizen of Sarajevo, a key figure for understanding the ties between our land and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The latest proposed itinerary takes us to Slovakia, a less crowded destination and therefore doubly attractive. The capital, Bratislava, located on the banks of the Danube, stands out for its lively old town and the emblematic Bratislava Castle, which dominates the city from a hill overlooking the river. Slovakia also offers impressive landscapes in the Tatra National Park, a mountainous area of the Carpathians with rugged peaks, glacial lakes, and numerous hiking trails. Among its heritage treasures, Bardejov also stands out, a small, perfectly preserved medieval town declared a World Heritage Site, and the majestic Spiš Castle, which dominates the landscape from a hill and offers an impressive display of medieval military architecture.

The Basilica of Santa Maria La Real de Covadonga

Rediscovering the Iberian Peninsula

Other travel options take us to the north of Spain, to the well-known Green Coast, with towns like Ribadesella, Cangas, and the unique charm of the Picos d'Europa; or to enjoy an unforgettable five-day getaway discovering the beauty and authenticity of Somontano, Sobrarb, and Jacetània, three jewels of the Aragonese Pyrenees that combine nature, history, and gastronomy. From the landscapes of vineyards and wineries of Somontano to the medieval villages and impressive natural parks of Sobrarb, passing through the cultural and mountainous charm of Jacetània, this trip offers you a complete experience to disconnect, explore, and enjoy unique traditions in a spectacular setting.Short trips offer us, therefore, many practical and personal benefits, as they allow us to discover new places without great travel and make better use of available time. We don't always need to go to the other side of the world, and besides, we are lucky to be surrounded by enriching and surprising destinations.Sign up for the newsletter from Viatges Eurovacances to stay up to date with their latest offerings, check their entire schedule on the website www.viatgeseurovacances.net or visit any of their three offices.EUROVACANCES BarcelonaRambla Catalunya, 124, 5th floor 1st apartment934152300EUROVACANCES GranollersCatalonia, 12-18938611228EUROVACANCES GironaOld Ironworks, 11972225344
