Man arrested for burning bins and Mossos investigate if he is related to the Collserola fire
The suspect was arrested Wednesday after witnesses alerted that he had set fire to dumpsters near the origin of the fire
The Barcelona Urban Guard has arrested a man for his alleged connection with the fire that has burned 54 hectares of the Collserola Natural Park this week. As advanced by La Vanguardia and confirmed by municipal sources to the Europa Press news agency, the arrest took place on Wednesday morning, after witnesses indicated that the suspect had intentionally set fire to several containers on Carrer Palamós, near the point where the fire originated.
The fire started on Tuesday afternoon on the Carretera Alta de les Roquetes, in the Nou Barris district, and forced the confinement of the Torre Baró and Ciutat Meridiana neighborhoods. It is currently considered under control and the Firefighters are continuing firefighting efforts to extinguish it completely.
