Kilometric traffic jams on the AP-7 and closure of the Litoral ring road due to two accidents involving trucks

Two accidents involving trucks are causing traffic jams of more than 10 km since early this morning on the AP-7 and the Ronda Litoral in Barcelona. On the country's main motorway, a truck carrying frozen products caught fire in Cerdanyola del Vallès, an accident that forced the entire road to be closed in the southbound direction early on. By 10 a.m., three lanes had already been reopened, but there are still 10 km of traffic jams from Santa Perpètua de Mogoda.
The incident is also causing disruptions on the B-30, parallel to the AP-7, from Barberà del Vallès. Following the accident, the Traffic Department recommends traveling via alternative routes. In the direction of Tarragona and Lleida, drivers are asked to use the C-58 and the B-40, while in the direction of Barcelona, these two routes as well as the A-2 can be used.
Closure of the Ronda Litoral
Another accident involving a truck that overturned on the Ronda Litoral in Barcelona has forced the closure of the Catalan capital's ring road in the Llobregat direction. The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. near Montjuïc, and as of 9:00 a.m., the firefighters were still working to remove the vehicle from the road. The accident has forced the closure of access points to this road in the Llobregat direction. Only the exits have been left open to clear the area of the accident and facilitate the removal of the vehicle, where the driver was trapped.
The section affected by the accident on the Ronda Litoral covers almost the entire road, with traffic congestion extending to Sant Adrià de Besòs. Freight trains are also affected by the fall of a lamppost onto the tracks from the ring road.
