Eduard Sallent, former chief commissioner of the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) in two separate periods, will now work at SIMA Consulting, a consulting firm he co-founded. This comes after news broke a few days ago that The commissioner had requested a leave of absence. And that he would leave the Catalan police force after a few weeks, his new destination is now known.

Sallent will share leadership of the project with Raül Murcia, the current CEO of the consulting firm. Murcia, in fact, has already worked with Sallent at the Ministry of the Interior. During the previous term in the Generalitat, the ministry was headed by Joan Ignasi Elena and his chief of staff was Raúl Murcia. During that same period, Sallent was chief commissioner of the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) and they worked closely together in various areas. Before that, Murcia had been Oriol Junqueras' right-hand man.

With the arrival of the PSC (Socialist Party of Catalonia) to the Catalan government, Sallent was dismissed as head of the force and went on to lead the southern metropolitan region. After facing several challenges such as reducing crime at El Prat airport and the Mobile World Congress, Sallent officially announced his departure from the force. According to the consulting firm itself, which specializes in strategy, crisis management, and communication, Sallent will be in charge of projects related to corporate strategy and complex risk management. According to sources close to the company, the firm advises private companies on communication matters, but also on security, especially focusing on cybersecurity. Sallent's role will also be closely linked to geopolitical analysis and helping companies interpret the current context, according to sources close to the company, which was founded approximately a year ago. Sallent had previously headed the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) in two different periods: first during Quim Torra's government and then during Pere Aragonès's.
